-Paintings on wood-

When you say ‘painting’, canvas is the first thing popping into your mind: one might seldom think of wood as a support to paint on.
Maybe because not everybody know that the canvas was first used to be painted on only after the XVI century and many of the most well-known masterpieces are created on wood. An example? “Mona Lisa”. Is that enough?
